This is a bit disingenuous, it's been unseasonably dry and mild in Vancouver this last week, but I'm sure it will be dark and wet again in no time. Has everyone seen A Year Without Santa Claus? I think that it maybe didn't make it on TV up in Canada when I was a kid, I didn't see it until a few years ago, So I've opted out of Christmas this year (I'm having kind of A Year Without Santa Claus myself, hur hur) and it is a real relief. I'm staying in Vancouver by myself and I'm away from my family for the first year ever. On Christmas Eve I made myself a lil' chicken and went alone to a bar. Merry Christmas Eve [24 Dec 2009|09:27pm] celesse [ mood | cold ] I got to see Avatar the other night, and OH EM GEE was it gorgeous. I absolutely loved it. The world they created was so beautiful. Though the story and characters were almost painfully cliche, but they wrapped it in such a pretty package that I was able to forgive it. I even got to see it in 3D since our dinky little theater actually invested in a digital 3D player a few months back. It was a good experience too, which is rare. Our theater is pretty crummy so often I can expect the movie to be out of focus, misaligned on the screen, or various other problems that I have to scold them about. But this time nobody sat in front of me and the picture was beautiful and well-aligned (they should really update all their projectors to digital). The only problem was I had to remind them to actually start the movie. Doofuses. I finally changed out my earrings last night. The flowers were just rubbing my poor ears raw. I have a pair of little plastic ball studs that came with some other cute earrings I got so I put those in. I don't like them much, but they're a lot more gentle on my ears when I sleep. I can't wait until I can start taking my earrings out when I go to bed so I don't have to sleep on any at all. Jeez it's cold! It's only reading about 45-50 but it's raining and the wind is blowing so hard it's pushing the cold into the house and making it feel like it's below 30. STUPID HUGE CHRISTMAS EVE ART POST [24 Dec 2009|02:35am] aidosaur [ mood | sleepy ] Before leaving Brooklyn I spent at least four hours scanning in like half of my sketchbook! I can't really show a lot of it publicly, but this is a huge chunk of it! Nothing's really quality, but there's a good quantity of it!
